Please note: Due to the COVID-19/Caronavirus situation, all worship services have been moved online and all gatherings at the church have been cancelled. We are working on ways to continue to learn, to worship, to stay connected and to continue to be a family of faith during this time. Please visit our Facebook page for up-to-date information.
We gather after worship for Sunday School all but the last Sunday of the month. We first meet in the large Sunday School room to sing a song or two, grab refreshments, and pray before dismissing to our classes. Children and youth meet in the alcove off the Fellowship Hall and one adult class meets in the large classroom. Lessons for these classes vary from week to week, but generally focus on a particular set of scriptures. The Pastor sometimes offers a class for prospective members (or longtime members that want a refresher) in his office. It focuses on the origins of the faith, through the reformation and into the current state of the church, from "In the beginning" to last Tuesday. Additional options may be available, and these will be announced at the start of the worship service.
Meals and Other Congregation-Wide Fellowship Opportunities
If a month has five Sundays, we host a Fifth Sunday Potluck lunch after the relaxed service. All are welcome, and our guests need not bring anything. We also host several other meals and fellowship opportunities. Be sure to follow our Facebook page (the link is at the bottom of this page) for more information about these special events. They will also be promoted during the worship service and in the weekly worship bulletin.
Women of the Word (WOW)
WOW meets three times a year on Saturday mornings at 10:00. In January, we prepare for a soup supper, and donations from that meal go to World Hunger Relief. In June, we have a guest speaker, and our offering goes to that speaker's organization. In October, we meet to plan for WOW to lead worship on the second Sunday in November. All women of the church are automatically members (attendance is optional, but encouraged). Refreshments are provided for each meeting by an appointed hostess. WOW also collects the fronts of Birthday cards, get well cards and Christmas cards (no writing on the back, please) and gives them to Mosiac and Friends for Life. They use them for activities with their clients. Ruth Circle
Ruth Circle meets on the second Tuesday of each month from September through May at 10:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. We have a Bible study led by Angela Magelssen. Both women and men are welcome. Meetings last about an hour. No refreshments are provided (but the coffee pot is always available). An offering is taken at each meeting, and the it is given to a local charitable organization like the Salvation Army, Meals on Wheels, or Mosiac. Stitch and Chatter
Stitch and Chatter meets on the third Tuesday of every month from 9:30 to 11:00 in the large Sunday School room. We use donated fabric to make lap robes to give to home bound people. Some go to Friends for Life, Family Abuse Center, Mosaic and other organizations in need. All are welcome--we need material cutters, pattern drawers, sewers and ironers. Chatter (and laughter) is encouraged.
